Just recently i stumbled upon this American documentary photographer and filmmaker called Walter Rosenblum. His pictures are beautiful, each one telling its own story. I've included some of my favourites below, but if you're as enthusiastic about this style of photography as I am, i suggest looking at more of his work here and giving a look at the photographers above too! Continue reading →

“In my philosophy, the meaning of life derives from the people one has known and loved, who have made life inexhaustible in its richness. I have met my share of evil people and know what they are capable of ( I was at the liberation of the camp Dachau) but I have always held that evil is not inherent in men and women. I still believe that given a caring society, only the best in people will flourish. That is the spirit that has moved me to photograph.” – Walter Rosenblum

Some amazing artwork by Jimmy Turrell who is a graphic artist based in London. He described his style perfectly in an interview with IdN magazine: “I guess a lot of my work is steeped in nostalgia but I try hard to examine it in a contemporary setting. I try to use methods that produce strange (and often awkward) combinations of images and ideas. Mixing analog techniques from the past with imagery and subject matter from the present can create strange hybrid worlds – which in themselves feel new and of their time. This often means my style is quite diverse – it can jump from hand painted portraits to complex collage work to very simple graphic pieces – though hopefully a certain spirit runs throughout.”
To view more of his work you can go to his portfolio, but he also updates his blog regularly which you can visit here.
